Facing grief is hard! This post is going to be a little different from my regular content. My mom passed away and the pain I have experienced is unimaginable. Although, I thought I prepared myself for this day it is like nothing I could’ve ever fathomed. The passing of my mother has made me think so much about life! It’s important to live a life that is enriched with Christ Jesus, The Holy Spirit, good health, wholeness, love, joy, purpose, and being surrounded by people who truly love and care for you.
My mom had a hard life. I believed her life and happiness were sacrificed for other people’s peace. She endured things that shouldn’t have been tolerated because she valued and loved others more than herself. I found myself asking her, “Do you love yourself?”, and she would always say, “Yes”. After hearing this I would ask myself, “Then how could she tolerate this?” I guess what saddens me the most is when I looked back on her life, and I realized that I never saw her truly happy. This moment actually brought a fresh perspective to my own life because I desire to live life to the fullest, and I want to encourage others to do the same!
So, no matter what you’re facing get out there and LIVE LIFE! In John 10:10 Jesus says, the thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Jesus let us know that He came into this world to give us a good life! The devil’s job is to steal, kill and destroy your life but Jesus is here to do the total opposite! Now, in order to have this life Matthew 6:33 has to be embedded into your subconscious mind! It states, “But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.” I love this verse in the Amplified Bible translation because it explains it more in detail. You must learn God’s laws, His promises, and what He expects from you.
The protection of God will cover you and follow you when you submit to Him. There will be situations and people that God will protect you from and battles you will not have to endure. Jesus promised us in John 14:26 that God would send the Holy Spirit which is our Helper to minister to us in our times of need. Have you ever gone through something, and you said, “If I would have just listened to my intuition I would have not been in this mess!” Well, that intuition is the Holy Spirit! That is the Divine Voice of God speaking to us. Become more obedient to the Holy Spirit and watch God shield you from unnecessary drama.
I sit back and think if my mom would have done things more aligned with God’s will would her life have been different in this moment. Doing this will not help me and it won’t help you. We have to accept God’s will for our loved ones at this time and we can’t keep thinking of what, could, or should have happened. Let’s begin to pray and look for the lessons in their life that will make us better people. My mom always told us to take the good things from her and leave the bad ones.
So, friends I want to encourage you to take a look at your life and evaluate it. If there are things you want to do, do them! You need to get healthy, do it! If there are relationships that need to be cut off, cut them off! Ask yourself these questions. Do I love myself? Am I putting up with things that no longer serve the life I want? Do I love my life right now? Am I at peace? Are the people surrounding me bringing me joy, peace and love? Am I elevating in life? What are my dreams? If God came back right now, am I ready? Just take a moment and think. Get you a notebook and journal these thoughts. Don’t let another day go by and you are just existing. Life is too short! I have learned this hard painful lesson these last two weeks. Keeping praying and believing! I will see you in the next blog!
