As you begin to transform your mindset you will uncover how important forgiveness is on this journey.
In today’s blog post I want to discuss unforgiveness. This can be a great hinderance to your progress, and it could be the reason you have yet to flourish. Unforgiveness is a word that we all know too well and sometimes even say without thinking of the destruction behind it. Do you know how dangerous unforgiveness can be to your life? According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, unforgiveness is defined as unwilling or unable to forgive, having or making no allowance for error or weakness. Are there any circumstances or relationships in your life that fit the definition? Holding on to unforgiveness not only destroys your body but it can cause delays and hindrance in the spirit realm. Unforgiveness carries a bondage to it. You are stuck or tied down to that emotion which over time manifests into bitterness, resentment or even hatred. When your body is constantly under the stress of unforgiveness you can develop heart disease, diabetes, cancers, growths and so much more! [Do some research for yourself and you will be surprised at what you find!] I’m going to be very transparent with you all, I know firsthand the destruction unforgiveness can do to your body! I’m not just discussing some article that I’ve read this has become a part of my reality. Unforgiveness has caused so much strain and health complications within my body simply because I didn’t let go of offense! Trust me, it’s not worth it! After some research and reading my bible, I have learned that nothing happens by accident, and everything is linked to the spiritual realm. Unforgiveness can the root cause for illness within your body and you don’t even know it. Nobody is worth your health!
Matthew 6:14-15 it states, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly
Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your
sins.”
Just think how many times in your day you need God’s forgiveness. When humans choose not to forgive someone the Heavenly Father will not forgive them. That is totally different to the worlds view of forgiveness. Society has taught us to get even and treat people how they treat us, the old eye for an eye philosophy. Living with unforgiveness is expensive and it costs you your health not to mention your soul!
Forgiveness frees us, and it invites the Lord to take ahold of the situation and do what only He can do.
In order to receive any blessing from God you have to rid your heart of unforgiveness because God
doesn’t bless disobedience! His word doesn’t change and He means exactly what He says!
Mark 11:24-25 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it,
and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so
that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
If you are walking around with a heart full of evilness, then you might as well know that until you deal
with the root of those issues your prayers will continue to go unanswered. Begin to address and let go of
the anger, hatred, bitterness, and resentment. If someone has hurt, you forgive them! Mistreated you, forgive them! Lied on you, forgive them! Lied to you, forgive them! Dragged your name through the
mud, forgive them! Abused you, forgive them! No matter what they did you MUST forgive them because
that unforgiveness is holding you back. When you forgive it opens Heaven so that God can work
miraculous miracles in your life! Remember, forgiveness is for your sake no one else’s! Let God deal
with them instead of taking matters into your own hands. When you step in God steps out! So, give God
permission to work on your behalf and mend your broken heart.
Prayer:
Lord, heal my broken heart today! I forgive everyone who has hurt me, and I give them to You! I bless
them right now in the Name of Jesus and I let go of all the pain! Lord, I want to restore my relationship
with you so I forgive them so that you may forgive me and mend me back together. I step out in faith that as of today my life will being to change! In Jesus name, Amen!
